This is the Jeffreys Hook Lighthouse, also known as the Little Red Lighthouse. It was finished 1920 and made famous in the children's book "The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Grey Bridge" by Hildegard H. Swift.
The George Washington Bridge sits above the lighthouse. The boat ramp where we launched is on the opposite (NJ) shore).
As we went upriver, Captain Donna took the wheel and kept the boat very straight!
As we came north, we reached the Tappan Zee Bridge.
And found another lighthouse just past the bridge. This one was built in 1883. It is known as the Tarrytown Lighthouse or the Kingsland Point Lighthouse. More recently, it was renamed as the Lighthouse at Sleepy Hollow.
Overall, a wonderful day on the river!

AWESOME!
